Why Give to the Mission?
- The Mission School is an alternative school to Bureau of Indian Affairs and community schools throughout the Navajo Nation.
- Parents choose to place their children in a school that reflects Christian values while respecting Navajo culture and tradition.
- Partnership is expressed by Navajo and non-Navajo representation on a Mission Board of Directors.
- Social needs are addressed by counseling, educational opportunities, and on-the-job training.

Donate Online: You can make a one-time donation, or you can set up a recurring donation online using a Visa or MasterCard with our secure online service. Please see our privacy policy for information on how we treat data collected as a part of online donation transactions.
Note: Please do not use the "Give a Gift Now!" button for ACSTO donations - you must donate through the ACSTO site directly to get your AZ tax credit.
The Sponsorship Program
Scholarship sponsors play a large role in giving Navajo children the opportunity to attend religious education at the
House of Prayer, participate in sports and other after school activities, as well as providing transportation to the
Charter School and Mission. The House of Prayer has designed a program to provide each child with a personal
sponsor, who writes to the child and sends special gifts when appropriate. The children also write to the sponsor, and often are able to meet their sponsors at Chapel time as they visit the Mission. If you are interested in sponsoring a
child, perhaps one of the following options is right for you:
1. Individual Child Sponsorship ($850 scholarship): Supplements part of the expenses for one
student over the academic year (August-May) for their transportation to the Mission School, for
religious education at the House of Prayer, Holiday activities, and extra-curricular and after school activities.
2. Class Sponsorship ($3,000 scholarship): Supplements the expenses of a year in school (August-
May) for an entire grade-level—transportation, religious education, sports and other after school
extra-curricular activities.
Persons who become sponsors will receive a packet including: a picture of the student, a personalized letter from
the student, grade listing, date of birth, clothing size, occasional letters and gifts. We need your support to offer
these much needed services for our children!
For further details and a sponsorship form, please contact the Mission Office.

Campbell Soup Labels Program
Please save your Campbell’s Soup Labels proofs of purchases! The labels are used to purchase vehicles
for the Mission and are very valuable, as in the past we have been able to redeem these points in exchange for four 15-passenger vans (worth 1.5 million labels each!), and two 7-passenger mini vans for employee use. Although Campbell’s no longer have the 15-passenger vans, the Mission is still able to purchase smaller vans and educational equipment, such as overhead projectors, computers, and playground equipment.
The Campbell’s Soup program will only be accepting the bar code portion from the labels. Instead of saving the labels from
Campbell’s, Swanson’s, V8, Prego, and Franco American products, they now just require that the UPC (bar code) insignia be sent
(Any bar code whose number begins with 51 or 14 will qualify). If the bar code has dotted lines around or near it, cut on the lines. For more information about how to cut the labels see the instructions Campbell's Labels for Education page.People should send their cut bar codes directly to the Regional Center in California, where they will be sorted, packed, and shipped to the Campbell’s Soup company for the Mission.
The address to send your labels to is:
Solheim Lutheran Home
Reverend Ed Busch, Coordinator
2236 Merton Avenue
Los Angeles, CA 90041-1915
Solheim, CA
1-626-799-0961
Make sure that when the UPC bar codes/ labels are mailed to the address above, that you designate that they be credited to the account of the Navajo Lutheran Mission. Also, if you shop at Albertsons grocery story or Target, contact the Mission about a "partner's" card, which will contribute a dollar amount of a certain percentage of eligible purchases to the Mission School.

General Mills Box Tops for Education Program
The Box Tops for Education proofs of purchase are also very valuable, as they convert into cash for the school. Please mail your box tops directly to the Mission for processing.
If you are a doctor or a qualified Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner and would like to be part of this exciting Mission opportunity, please contact the Executive Director.
Quilt and Toy Giveaway Program
Each year, after the School’s annual Christmas Program, the elderly, mothers, and children line up for the Mission's traditional Quilt and Toy Giveaway. This gift is only made possible through the financial support and in-kind gifts from our donors. The quilts are sent to us from every corner of the United State through various sewing circles, churches, and individuals. We invite you or your church group to join us each year in making quilts and making "Christmas at the Mission" a special time of year.
