Support the Mission

There are many ways to Support the Navajo Mission

Here are just a few:

By Prayer: Praying for the well being of our community and the growth of the Mission services.

By Volunteering: Much work and service is accomplished by dedicated volunteers and special projects.

Be a “Mission Advocate”: Spread the word about the Mission to your church and community.

Be a Donor: Providing monetary funds are crucial for the continued management and growth of the Mission. See below on this page for financial giving options.

Sponsor a Project: The Mission has several critical projects for which we are looking for individuals or groups to sponsor. See our Project Needs List for details.

In-Kind Gifts: The Mission welcomes gifts of supplies, medicine, furniture, etc. See our In-Kind Gifts Needs List for details.

GivingThank you for your support of the Navajo Lutheran Mission and school at Rock Point. The work of the mission relies on the continuing support of our friends and volunteers, who give so generously of their time and money.

You Can Help

We invite you to become part of "A Mission With a Mission," and to invest in the lives of the Navajo children and families of Rock Point, AZ.

Needs

The Mission is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. Of the current annual budget of about $950,000, 80% is supported by individuals, churches, foundations, and businesses throughout the country, and 20% by federal, state, and other sources. The Mission budget is in a period of rapid growth caused by three primary factors that have substantially increased operational costs: a commitment to quality education, expanding services to the community, and the necessity of upgrading/replacing aging Mission facilities.

Why Give to the Mission?

  • The Mission School is an alternative school to Bureau of Indian Affairs and community schools throughout the Navajo Nation.
  • Parents choose to place their children in a school that reflects Christian values while respecting Navajo culture and tradition.
  • Partnership is expressed by Navajo and non-Navajo representation on a Mission Board of Directors.
  • As needs change, programs and services change. Current plans include the re-opening of a medical clinic and increased focus on community spiritual needs.
  • Social needs are addressed by counseling, educational opportunities, and on-the-job training.

How to Give:

If you choose this option, make your donation through ACSTO directly, and specify the Navajo Lutheran Mission School as the recipient school.
