Mission Statement
As followers of Jesus Christ, we strive for reconciliation and healing in a broken world. We believe that the call of Jesus is extended to all people equally, and that each person is given what they uniquely need to fully participate in the clanship of God. "
House of Prayer is the congregation located on the Navajo Lutheran Mission campus, serving the Rock Point community as a center for spiritual learning and cultural dialog. Established in 1965 within the American Lutheran Church, HOP is now a member congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and an active cross-cultural ministry of the Grand Canyon Synod.
House of Prayer is supported by HOP members, ministries of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the Grand Canyon Synod, and congregations, foundations, and individual donors from across the US and Canada. With gratitude, we welcome the prayers, volunteer assistance, and generous gifts of our partners throughout the whole Church in the world.
Hózhó Café, a ministry of House of Prayer, serves a warm meal daily, Monday - Friday, welcoming young and old to taste and see God's abundance.
Kate Adelman serves House of Prayer as local pastor and teacher. Community members assist with leadership and Navajo translation.
